B I O G R A P H Y

Being an ambitious classical guitar player as a kid, Dennis Pientak got his first double bass lessons at the age of 13 by Wlodzimierz Gula. He gathered his first orchestral experiences in the German National Youth Orchestra. Later on he was part of the junior college of the Folkwang University of the Arts, where he also began his Bachelor studies under guidance of Prof. Niek de Groot and Olivier Thiery.

From 2016 he was part of the class of Prof. Rick Stotijn at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf, where he got his bachelor degree in 2018 and finished his master degree in 2021 with honours,.

Dennis was part of the orchestra academy of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony from 2018-2019. 

Since January 2020 Dennis is principal double bass player of the Philharmonie Zuidnederland. In current times he is a regular guest of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and plays as a guest principal for the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Residentie Orkest The Hague.
